Alexander Technique Teacher, Voice Teacher, and Mezzo-Soprano
I am a classically trained singer who continues to perform professionally, as well as a certified Alexander Technique teacher, voice teacher, and certified yoga teacher.
While working on my bachelor’s degree I struggled with vocal fatigue. An Alexander Technique teacher worked with me in a workshop and I heard and felt my voice as I never had before. In those few moments, for the first time my singing felt full, easy, and authentically mine. Needing to know more, I joined a four year Alexander Technique certification course through the Contemporary Alexander School a week later. My passion is to help people discover efficiency and ease in any activity that they struggle with.
With my background as a vocalist and musician, I specialize in working with musicians, singers, and actors. I chose the name of Body Tunes for my business because I believe everyone has the ability to tune into and embody wellness in their mind body connection. Along with teaching Alexander Technique, I teach voice lessons online and in my studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I hold a bachelor’s and graduate work in vocal performance. I am a certified Alexander Technique teacher through the Alexander Alliance and Alexander Technique International. I am on the faculty for Total Vocal Freedom an online and retreat based Alexander Technique program for singers. I am on faculty at the University of New Mexico for the musical theatre program. Recently, I have taught workshops internationally in Berlin, Mexico, Montecito Music Festival, University of New Mexico, New Mexico All-State, University of Texas El Paso, University of Alaska, NATS Rio Grande Chapter, and Santa Fe Opera. When I am not teaching or singing, I love hiking in the mountains with my Golden Shepherd, Roxy and my husband. I enjoy searching for wildlife to capture with my camera and watching football!
